Superficial Intelligence is the 17th Corneil and Bernie episode.
Plot[]
Since the newspaper says that humans are more evolved than dogs, Corneil decides to enter an intelligence contest. The other contestants are a guy with a monkey named Junior and a woman with a cat named Dido. But Corneil doesn't want anyone to get smart about his secret of talking, so he decides to act less smart than he actually is. And this actually gives Junior the upper hand! When Corneil comes in first place on the last test, the doctor suspects Corneil has anthropomorphic abilities.
Trivia[]
- During Corneil's IQ testing, he is put through a simple maze where blue coloured arrows lead to the right path, and red leads to a dead end. However, since dogs are colorblind, Corneil should not have been able to recognize this. However, Corneil might also be able to see in color.
- The scientist determines that Corneil must be capable of speaking due to his score on the IQ test. Because of this, Corneil rigs the machine to avoid further hints of his secret. However, he is given a good score on the next test. There is no indication of the machine being fixed.*
- Corneil's IQ is (temporarily) revealed to be 250. That's along the same lines as Stephen Hawking, which means that even if talking dogs were common, Corneil would still be unique in his intelligence.
